I would like to formally introduce you to Janie. (Janie Isabella Nania) She is a wild thing! She is also the sweetest, most amazing furry blessing in our family's life! (next to Willie, of course)
Janie, who is about to turn three came to be a part of our family at seven weeks old. We adopted her through a local ferral cat rescue program. Our area seems to have a lot of ferral cats. (cats born in the wild) This group (Pet Savers) of volunteers finds a ferral cat colony and monitors it. If the cats are being fed by someone than they capture them, spay and neuter and then release them back. If no one is feeding them then they catch them and find homes for them. An adult ferral cat does not make the best snuggly, cuddly, sweet kitty pet. They are wild. So they also take any kittens and place them in foster homes at about 3 weeks of age. The foster parents bottle feed them every 3 hours even through the night. These babies are held, loved, and showered with gentle attention.
Janie was a foster baby. My daughter took one look at that tiny ball of fluff and said, "That one! She is the one I want!" I am so glad that she chose Janie. Every night, at about 3:00 am Janie climbs on to my stomach and plops down to finish her nights sleep. It is hillarious and not always such a comfy thing for me! She weighs 14 1/2 pounds! It would be better if she put her sweet face by mine, but no.....she places the other end there, and straddles my chest! Most of the time I just don't have the heart to move her, as she lay there, purring. She truly loves me and thinks I am her mommy.
We call her "Wild Thing" because she was born in the wild, but also because she is such a funny girl. She loves, loves, loves to be involved in everything I do. If I am cooking she wants to be right there, on the counter. No, I do not let her, but she tries! She also loves to ride around on my shoulder, wrapped around my neck!
I have pictures of her in my cupboards, crock pot, soup pot, boxes, drawers and the most recent, my empty china cabinet.
I got new carpet recently and had to empty out my china cabinet in order to move it. Janie has always been intrigued with my china cabinet and wanted nothing more than to jump in there and play with my treasures. I think she really wants the pixies! Or maybe a cup of tea!
My daughter heard the china cabinet door shut and turned around to see Janie in it!
And she finally decided to take a little nap
Right now, as I am writing this, Janie has jumped up on the desk and is trying to get on the keyboard to be closer to me!
I am so in love with this cat!

Gee, Debbie...I just happen to have a few cute photo's of Lucky. That top photo totally looks like Lucky, heehe! He would do all those same things Janie does. He does prefer to sleep in my armpit though....all snugged in with his head on my arm. I will tuck him in with his back to me and after a short while, he will turn the other way and press his tummy up against my side as close as he can get. We say he is our "Armpit Pal". I will also send a cute photo of Holly's cat Benny and her bunny Sassy.
Have a wonderful Independence Day!
Blessings~LillySue

She really goes everywhere she likes :-) No wonder it's not hard to fall for her. Love her photo inside the pot and the one where her face is up close in the glass on the cabinet LoL. You just can't help but laugh at it.
